TISC skaters competed exceptionally well at the 2012 Canadian Championships in Ste-Foy and Laval. Competitors skated to personal best times and Canadian record times while gaining valuable racing experience and showing strong form thanks to hard work in training.

Germany’s Franziska Neuling offered a clinic to Toronto-area skaters. The clinic, which covered starts, technique, and race strategy was enjoyed by young and older skaters alike.

Waiting to start-up!

June 14th 2012 practice!

A group of Toronto Inline Skating Clubs members were part of the group who helped support the Becel Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Those involved had to wake up at 3:30am to be at Toronto’s Exhibition Place for 5am, in time for breakfast and a volunteer’s meeting.
TISC members acted as road marshals, offering help and support for over 13,000 cyclists who were riding 25km, 50km and 75km routes on the DVP and Gardiner, two of Toronto’s major highways.

Here are a few pictures from practices held in the second half of May 2012.
A small and dedicated group of TISC skaters participated in today’s Trillium 10k in Mount Forest.
The event, usually marred by cold and wet conditions, was held in enjoyably dry and mild weather. Skaters zoomed along rural roads in and outside of Mount-Forest. The wind gave skaters a boost in the first 5k, but after the ‘u-turn’, skaters had to face the wind that slowed them down!
Congratulations to all who came and skated with their best efforts. Thank you to all the parents who supported their children and the Club’s young skaters in attendance. A special thank-you goes out to Graeme Tickner who took the pictures below with TISC’s camera.
