Beginning in April 2008
Following are a list of learning, fitness and racing programs offered by the Toronto Inline Skating ClubInline Skating Mississauga. and
Introduction to Inline Speed Skating (Group 1)
An introductory program geared towards individuals that are interested in learning how to inline speed skate. The program will cover basic skills required to skate efficiently, training principles and what to expect at events or meets.
Prerequisites: Ability to glide on two skates, start and stop safely.
Requirements: Full protective equipment recommended, HELMET and WRISTGAURDS mandatory.
Audience: Children/Beginners/Intermediate Adults

- Developmental program for beginner skaters
- Fun & Games based
- Technically focused activities
- Program geared towards group ability
Fitness and Marathon Training (Group 2 & 3)
A regular, season-long program designed for individuals that are beyond the Intermediate level and are looking for group fitness training. The program will guide participants through a seasonal training plan and include technical instruction to improve skating efficiency.
Prerequisites: Advanced level skating skills demonstrated to the program leader (starting, stopping, cross-over, single skate glide and drafting.)
Requirements: HELMET and WRISTGAURDS mandatory, speed skates recommended.
Audience: Intermediate to Advanced level skaters looking for structured group fitness training.

- Cooperative skating skills
- Games/Drills to improve agility
- Seasonal training plan
- Preparation for marathons and other events

Racing Program (Group 4 & 5)
A regular, season-long program designed for competitive skaters that are attempting to qualify for or participate in Provincial, National or International events. The program will guide athletes through a seasonal development plan and include technical tactical instruction.
Prerequisites: Expert level skating skills demonstrated to the program leader (starting, stopping, cross-over, single skate glide and drafting.)
Requirements: HELMET and WRISTGAURDS mandatory, speed skates recommended.
Audience: Expert level skaters looking for structured coaching towards competition.
Features:
- Competition from local to international events
- Technical/tactical and pack skills
- Sprint and speed training
- Lead by experienced current and former Canadian National/World Team members

Where and When
Schedules: 6pm April, 6:30pm in May (running until September), Tuesday and/or Thursday Evenings (attend one or both sessions)
Locations: Christ the King, 3674 Lakeshore Boulevard West, Etobicoke, ON, M8W-1N6 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
