Jade Pauley- 2010 Canadian Champion

TISC’s Jade Pauley has been steadily creeping up the racing ranks during the last couple of season, culminating this past weekend with the title of 2010 Canadian Champion.

Jade Pauley, who trains with TISC every Tuesday & Thursday, won every distance in the track racing. He came a extremely close to setting the record in the 500-meter sprint, clocking a time of 42.642.

Morgane Echardour claimed 2nd overall, placing 2nd in each race behind ex-TISC skater Sarah Hopkins, who now lives in Calgary.

Brock Howes skated in his first ever Canadian Championship, placing top-5. He skated to a number of personal-best times.

Peter Doucet finished 2nd to Jade Pauley in three races. He also finished 3rd in the 1000-meter and 4th in the 500-meter.


TISC Skaters out in Force at Chicagoland Inline Marathon & Rollerblade Inline Tour

TISC skaters were out in full force this past weekend, racing in the Chicagoland Inline Marathon & Rollerblade Inline Tour.

The Chicagoland Inline Marathon and Rollerblade Inline Tour featured a sprint race on Friday, time trial and points race on Saturday, and culminating with a marathon on Sunday.

Jesse Pauley, Leo Frusteri, Morgan Williams, Herb Gayle, Scott Pauley, and Candy Wong all proved to be competitive in their categories and races.

GetInline- August 15th in Toronto

On Sunday, August 15th Surrey Place Centre will be hosting its annual GetInline – Toronto’s walk and inline skate for people with developmental disabilities. This event helps raise funds to enhance programs and services for people with developmental disabilities in order to enable them to live to their fullest potential.


VIP Fundraising Event for the Ontario Veterinary College Needs skaters

Inline skaters are needed for a big VIP fundraising event for the Ontario Veterinary College. The event involves Olympians from all disciplines of horse sport. It is action packed and tons of fun. With a sold out crowd at last year’s event, and the same anticipated this year, the event will take place on Thursday evening, August 26th in Georgetown near highway 401 and Trafalger Rd.

Skaters will be asked to try to skate like in the video below (click here to view). The event has a horse, and now they need the right skater.

TISC Skaters Poised for Podium After Successful Racing on day 1 of Canadian Champs

The 2010 Canadian Outdoor Speed Skating Championships are in full swing in Okotoks, near Calgary. Skaters are vying for Canadian titles on a fast 400-meter outdoor track.

TISC’s Jade Pauley won all three Senior World Class Men’s distances, including the 300-meter time trial, 1000-meter, and 10km points & elimination race.

Peter Doucet placed second in the 300-meter and 10km points & elimination race, and third in the 1000-meters. He set a personal best 300-meter time, skating in the 27-seconds.

Morgane Echardour was 2nd in all three of her distances on the first day in the Senior World Class Women’s division. Ex-TISC skater Sarah Hopkins won all three distances on the day. She set the Canadian record in the 1000-meters.

Brock Howes managed to set a personal best time in the 300-meter sprint. He finished 5th in the 10km points & elimination race, managing to avoid elimination and completing the distance.


Morgane Echardour 2nd, Jade Pauley 4th at Canadian Championship Marathon in Calgary

TISC’s Morgane Echardour placed 2nd at the Canadian Championship Marathon held on Wednesday in Calgary. Sarah Hopkins, who started skating with TISC in 2006 and moved to Calgary for long track speed skating, finished in first place.

On the men’s side, Jade Pauley placed 4th in a sprint for 2nd, finishing 1-wheel behind USA’s World Championships medalist Josh Wood. Peter Doucet finished 5th. Ottawa’s Stephane Tremblay won the race thanks to a successful early breakaway.

TISC’s Peter Doucet, Morgane Echardour, Brock Howes, and Jade Pauley will be competing in the Canadian Championships this weekend in Calgary.

Wayne Burrett is also in Calgary, supporting the event in an official capacity.

Peter Doucet & Herb Gayle win in Trexlertown, Morgane Echardour 4th

Peter Doucet & Herb Gayle skated to the top of the podium at this past weekend’s Eastern Seaboard Series #3 in Trexlertown, PA.

Doucet won the Pro Senior/ Junior men’s race in a breakaway while Gayle won the Pro Veteran/ Master’s race in a sprint finish.

Morgane Echardour was about half a skate shy of 3rd place in the Pro Senior women’s race, settling for 4th place.
