TISC members volunteer & promote skating at Becel Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart

June 7, 2010

Almost a dozen skaters from the Toronto Inline Skating Club volunteered their time on Sunday to volunteer and to promote inline skating at the annual Becel Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart in Toronto.

The Becel Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart, which was sold out, attracted over 13-thousand cyclists and inline skaters. The event helped raise over $3-million in support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Alain Quintard and his team worked tirelessly in recruiting skaters, helping to organize TISC’s booth, and handing out flyers and speaking with event participants.

Despite the rainy & cool weather, exciting live music jammed through the air as a carnival-like atmosphere took over the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) grounds. Great food (chicken, salmon, beef, a variety of salads) was offered to those who raised over $1000 as well as to those who volunteered for the event.

TISC will continue to support the event and the important cause.
