Come Out This Weekend For Team Schankel Training Camp

Andrew Hegarty is running a Team Schankel Training Camp this Saturday & Sunday, October 3rd and 4th at Father Redmond-Humber College 400m track in Etobicoke.

Andrew has extended an open invitation to anyone interested in participating in this training camp. There is no fee to attend. Saturday’s program will begin at noon and Sunday’s program will begin at 10am.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The 2011 program will focus on the development of speed, endurance, and health with a focus on the following

- proper skating technique and agility
- fun, joy, and freedom of skating
- safety
- achieving health through active participation
- tactics and strategy

Plans for the 2011 program include

- use of multiple coaches and instructors for delivery of program
- fitness, youth, and racing programs

- using both track and road to prepare skaters for events

Practices will begin with dry-land warm-up lasting about 30-minutes, on-skates technique to develop efficiency, followed by drills, activities, and training geared at developing technique, agility, higher speed, greater endurance, and tactical awareness.
