TISC’s Candy Wong Featured On Global Television

August 20, 2009

TISC’s very own President, Candy Wong, was featured on Global Telelvision on Tuesday.

Candy wrote about her experience here; Dream Chaser On Television-

The piece focuses on exercise addiction and I provided a different angle on training hard but not overdoing it. The interview and filming experience was fun and interesting. We met at the foyer of my office and drove to a nearby park. There was a nice quiet driveway leading to a parking lot so it worked out perfectly for some straightaway footage.

TISC Skaters Compete In Minnesota

August 18, 2009

A few TISC skaters competed in this weekend’s Minnesota Half Marathon & NROC 10K Championship.

Sarah Hopkins, Morgan Williams, and Candy Wong claimed top-5 and podium placements.

Candy Wong shared her report here; Work Ahead Of Me-

I had to work hard but felt comfortable enough to know that I was right where I should be. To be honest, the attacks and surges felt like a blur to me. I kept on reminding myself that this was just like my regular training sessions in Hamilton with guys who are stronger than me. It certainly helped to put things in perspective because I know that strength is not everything.

Thank You & Good Luck Cheol Min Kim

August 7, 2009

Cheol Min Kim is going back to his home in Korea.

Cheol was a great addition to the Toronto Inline Skating Club. He did a great job at practice, putting in good effort in training.

He also volunteered with the club, Roller Sports Ontario, and Roller Sports Canada. He helped with lap counting, bell ringing during races, set-up and take-down, and much more.

We would like to thank Cheol Min Kim for all his hard work and we wish him success and great luck in the future.

Small Turn Out & Good Racing At RSO Series In Harriston

August 3, 2009

On Sunday, a small group of TISC’s skaters competed in the 3rd RSO Outdoor Series of the season. The event was held at CITC’s 200-meter banked track in Harriston.

Despite a very small turn-out, the competition was very good and each skater had other to race with.

Peter Doucet & Morgane Echardour set record times in the 1500-meter time trial.

Jade Pauley followed up on his 500-meter Canadian Championships victory with a win and the fastest time of the day in the 500-meter sprint.

This was Brock Howes’ first track competition. Brock recently picked up roller speed skating and has been training at TISC.
