TISC Skaters At Minto Run For Reach

April 29, 2009

A group of about 10 skaters from the Toronto area traveled to Ottawa to skate the Minto Run For Reach 21km. The race, held in Ottawa, was this season’s first outdoor event.

Almost 100 skaters from Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto took to the scenic roads in Ottawa. This is a big improvement over last year’s race when just over 50 skaters started the race.

This year, 22 Skaters broke the 40-minute barrier compared to only 3 who were under 40-minutes at the 2008 event.

Pictures From April 23rd Practice

April 24, 2009

Candy Wong shared just under 100 pictures from yesterday’s practice held at Father Redmond 400-meter track. You can read about the pictures here; Cruised With My Camera-

Bulky frilly dress coat was indeed very non-aerodynamic and it sure didn’t help to have a little purse slung across my body. But with the burst function on my pink camera, I managed to capture some decent photos at our club practice.

Candy Wong- TISC’s First Practice

April 4, 2009

Candy Wong wrote about TISC’s first practice of 2009 in her entry First TISC Practice Of 2009-

I am very relieved that our first official club practice of the outdoor season went off without a hitch. As the new president of our club, I feel there is a bit more responsibilities on my shoulders. I still remember the frenzy of paperwork at the beginning of some early season practices last season. I was overwhelmed and it really affected my ability to concentrate on training. Luckily everything ran smoothly today.
