2009 Board Of Directors Voted In, AGM Held

The Toronto Inline Skating Club held its Annual General Meeting earlier today. The 2009 Board of Directors was voted in. Your includes-

Candy Wong- President
Gillian Clarke- Treasurer
Travis Shaw- Secretary
Peter Doucet- Director at Large
Georg Nikodym-  Director at Large

Items adressed, presented, and discussed at today’s meeting include-

  • State of the club’s finances- The club is continuing to maintain records and spend wisely
  • President’s report- The club is in good shape
  • Venue plans for 2009- 200-meter track at CTK & 400-meter track at Father Redmond
  • Skating program for 2009 will focus on safety, technique, and strategy- resulting in speed & fitness
  • Possible fundraising initiatives
  • Running a Sunday program at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga
  • Aaron Arndt’s clinic on the weekend on  May 2-3
  • TISC’s skin suit inventory- prices reduced to 50%
  • Maintaining alliance with TBN
  • Possible trips to train at Montreal’s Le Taz
  • Membership fees remaining unchanged

Annual Meeting & Membership Drive

Getting Ready for 2009 Outdoor Inline Skating Season:

TISC AGM Sunday March 29. 10.00 – 11.00am

2009 Annual General Meeting Agenda

Show your interest and support by attending the AGM at Scooter’s Roller Palace. The meeting will take place after the indoor speed practice from 8.00 am – 9.30am in the large party room next to the bowling alley in the rink.

A free draw will be held – prize = 1 TISC Skinsuit & 1 pair of TISC arm warmers.

Membership involves 3 forms, two fees and can be handed in at the AGM:

1. The 2009 Club Membership Form can be completed online before printing it off.

2. The 2009 Club Waiver Form must be initialed and signed as required, after printing it off.

3. The 2009 RSC Membership (Insurance) Form. If you have not already completed this form for 2009 please do so.

Note: Fees for TISC & RSC involve two separate payments.

The TISC Board of Directors hope to welcome back last years members and all interested for 2009 at this meeting.
