TISC skaters were busy this weekend competing in two races in the USA on Saturday.
A group of TISC skaters traveled to Detroit to race in the Wolverine Inline Marathon. The race took place on beautiful Bele Isle. TISC skaters earned a number of age category medals. Sarah Hopkins put up a very strong results placing 2nd by just a few inches to USA’s Jillieanne Rookard, a World Championships medalist and USA Long Track Speed Skating team member.
On the men’s side, placing in the top-5 overall was Morgan Williams who came in 4th. TISC’s Dean Arndt almost earned an overall podium finish as he was poised to take the pack sprint. However, a wrong turn in the last few meters of the race dashed his chances at a top-3 finish.
